What's a LINk?

What's a LINk

A LINk has been set up in every area of England to help local people influence or change the way their local NHS and social care services are planned and delivered.

By being part of your local LINk you can make your voice heard and improve services.

  • A LINk is made up of individuals and community groups who work together to improve local health and social care services
  • The job of a LINk is to find out what people like and dislike about local services, and to work with the people who plan and run them to help make them better
  • This may involve talking directly to health and social care professionals about a service that is not being offered, or suggesting ways that an existing service could be made better
  • LINks also have powers to help them do their job and to make sure that changes happen
How we've helped

How we've Helped

Since its inception, Luton LINk has been actively engaging with the community to ensure Health and Adult Social care services are meeting the community needs. To do this, Luton LINk has built excellent working relationships with NHS Luton, GP practices, L&D Hospital, Luton Borough Council and Mental Health Services. Work has been done to improve GP Access and to Improve Patient Experience at L&D to name just a few. To read more please click our achievements.

Shaping Luton LINk to a Local Healthwatch

By April 2013, Luton LINk will Evolve into Luton Healthwatch. Healthwatch will have a key role in influencing the commissioning and provision of services in Luton. To best prepare existing and future LINk members, we will be providing a series of training sessions.

A short questionnaire has been compiled to identify the areas that members would like to receive further training. It is our aim to regularly provide training based on the needs of the LINk members.

Please click the following LINk to access the online short questionnaire. It should not take more than a few minutes and all information collated is anonymous. Thank you for your continued support
